B357  Baltimore Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, attributed to the Peter Hermann Pottery, Baltimore Maryland , circa 1870, cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder, ribbed lug handles, cobalt  decorating both sides. Handles decorated with brushed cobalt highlights. The lid is one of the finer examples of an American stoneware , with  cobalt around the knob small rim chip, .  Diameter (across top of crock) 12" ; High  x 6 1/2".
