E358 Striking Southern Wythe County, Virginia Stepback / Server. This is one of
two known examples in this rare form, having offset drawers on one side with
a work surface, and a traditional Stepback on other side. The exterior of
this two-piece cupboard retains an old green paint over the original red,
the interior is an oyster white. All square nail construction with
outstanding beveled drawer fronts and deep chamfered door panels, side
panels and back boards. Made of Cherry and Poplar woods. There are very
unusual turned quarter-round moldings applied to areas on both top and
bottom of this cupboard showing the cabinetmaker's skills.  The very simple
turned half-round columns and also a turned half-round base molding adds to
the exquisite details of this piece. This rare cupboard was found in a barn
in Wythe County, VA over 30 years ago.  Overall Case Measurements are:  68"
wide x 22" deep x 82" tall
