F236 These wooden barn or privy lanterns are not often found painted this one has beautiful old naturial patina .. It also has a tin chimney and wire bale,  The candle socket is tin and there is a tin liner under the top to protect against burning although there are some small charred areas on the stiles on the inside. The top and bottom are secured with nails through the protruding pegs. It is in very good condition with some expected wear ,  It measures 10 1/2″ t. (plus 2″ for the handle) x 5″ x 5”.    . Circa early 19th. century
