G684 19th century hand made shadow box Diorama depicting a hand carved/painted cabin in the woods with snow on the ground and rooftop, a man swinging an axe to chop on a downed tree, and a man firing a gun into the woods, with a distant mountain range painted in the background. A few of the many three-dimensional details include a “puff” of smoke from the gun, a freshly cut tree stump next to the felled tree, painted hats and clothing on the men, natural twigs and foliage to create the forest, and a carved wood cabin complete with porch. Painted details along the back of the scene accentuate the quaint setting. Framed measurements are 23 1/4” wide x 12 1/2” tall x approximately 2 1/4” deep. The glass viewing area measures 19 1/2” wide x 8 7/8” tall.
