H221 Great Folk Art Chicken weathervane in old white paint over the original red. Double sided. The hand carved detailing defining feathers in the tail, around the neck and on the sides of the head along with the early tack eyes, and cut metal that was used for the comb on the head and wattle below the beak add to the folky character of this piece. Mounted in an early original white painted architectural turning. Measurements: Overall height is 21 ½” tall. Chicken measures 16” wide x ¾” thick x 11” tall. The base is 4 ½” diameter (bottom) x 7 ¾” tall.
