H270 Tin "Jewel" Skater's Lantern Ca. 1912. This example is made of tin and early clear glass with bubbles throughout. Skater's lamps are interesting in that their name conjures up rather romantic images of the Victorian era. These little lanterns are general purpose outdoor lights which could easily be carried around and which would not be subject to being blown out by the wind. The unmarked wick wheel easily adjusts the old wick which is in this lantern. Measurements: Approximately 10 1/2" to top of bail handle. Lamp itself is approximately 7" tall to top of cap x approximately 3" in diameter at base.
