H325 Bold early 19th century Western Pennsylvania red and black paint decorated stepback cupboard with two, six-pane doors on the top, a tall open pie shelf and three drawers over two panel doors on the base. Nice original wavy glass, detailed molding around the top and crisp beaded edge around doors, drawers and pie shelf opening. Doors are full mortised and pegged. Tall cut out feet with decorative cutout ends and drop scalloped cutout on front. Primarily fully wooden pegged construction with a few early square head nails around the outer edges of the back. Drawers are dovetailed front and back. Top retains oyster white painted interior and base has natural patina interior. Circa 1820 - 1840s. Measurements: Base is 48 ¼” wide x 20 ¾” deep. Top is 51” wide across top molding x 13” deep. Top case is 11” deep. Overall height is 83” tall.
