J255 Stunning 18th century New England old blue painted stretcher base tavern table with dovetailed drawer featuring a beaded edge on three sides of drawer front and the original wooden knob. One-board top is secured to the base with wooden pegs. Breadboard ends on the top are held in place with wooden pegs. The apron, legs and stretchers are fully mortised and pegged. Stretchers are original and show great wear. Circa 1780-1800. From the Estate of St. Mark, Newtown, Connecticut. Measurements: 40 ¼” wide x 26” deep x 27 ¾” tall
