*SOLD* J337 18th century hand forged cast iron fireplace post stand / trivet. A fine example of a blacksmith made cooking trivet. Trivets such as this were used for a variety of purposes at the hands of a hearth attendee. The piece allowed for any type of pot or pan to be elevated to keep a distance from hot coals for cooking purposes.
