**SOLD** L224 Late 19th century Pennsylvania wooden Lantern featuring four glass panels contained within a wooden pinned and post construction frame boasting old blue painted surface. Door opens freely to access the crudely made metal candle socket. There is a hole in the top for ventilation purposes which is covered on the exterior with a bent piece of sheet metal to create a hood that protects the candle flame from wind/rain. There are several make-do repairs to the top.
A wire bail handle is attached to the top for carrying/hanging purposes. The wood appears to be oak.
Measurements 5 ¾” x 5 7/8” square x 10” tall at corner posts.
Overall height is approximately 13 5/8” tall including handle in upright position.
