L435B 19th century large candle Lantern bearing original old blue painted surface. Lantern is glass and tin construction with a hinged door, smoke ventilator chimney bearing a crimped cover and round tin handle with folded edges attached to top with heavy wire. The thick pane of glass in the door has an early break that does not affect the integrity of the lantern. This lantern is unique in that it also has a glass bottom. The internal candle socket is supported via a tin band with rolled edges that is soldered to the frame.
Measurements: 9” x 9” x 20¾” tall to top of handle.
