RM1242 Super 18th Century tall, blacksmith hand forged iron tri-footed fireplace trivet resting on broad padded feet with extended wooden handle secured by a wide brass coupling. Prominent hammer marks throughout the iron and wonderful patina to the iron, brass, and wood that is indicative of age.  These trivets were also called kettle cooling stands.   Measurements are: 22 1/2” long x 10 1/4” tall x 8 1/4” wide
