RM1494 Canvasback Drake Decoy carved by Capt. John "Daddy" Holly (1818-1892), Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was considered the Father of the Havre de Grace Carving school. The original iron keel weight and leather rigging remain intact on bottom. This decoy was formerly owned - and cleaned down to the original paint - by Henry Fleckenstein - and retains his handwritten identification label on the bottom. Circa 1870.
