C415 Sampler - "Wrought in 1835 - To my Teacher Miss Griswold - And when in scenes of distant joy - You rove with footsteps free - Soft to my heart this little verse - Will make me think of thee." Julia Etta Corwin Aged 9 years". Rows of repeating alphabets with nice, geometrical border on all sides. The first alphabet is missing the letters J, Q and Z. All others are complete. Appears to be cotton threads stitched on linen. Nicely framed. Per census information, Julia Etta Corwin (1826 – 1906) was from Middletown, Orange Co., New York.  Measurements: 19 1/4" square (framed) 17 1/4" square (viewing area).
