D529 Late 18th century  Tavern  Table, dry original red paint, one board top 29" wide, with mortised and pin bread board ends which is pegged on, a very square head nails have been added over the year. Resting on a hepplewhite base with a tapered legs each leg is mortised and double pinned. The base is made of Birch and the top is white pine and outstanding early table from the collection Samuel Kettell (1801–1855) was an American author. He also wrote under the name "Sampson Short-and-fat, Home Newbury port, Essex County, Massachusetts
