**SOLD** F533 PENNY RUG.  late 19th century American Pennsylvania penny rug. Six sides of circular medallions stitched together in colors of red black and Mustard green. All edged in -circles. The rug has been professionally mounted on frame and ready to hang Measures 44 1/2" in length with a height of 29 1/2". Circa 1890 Most antique penny rugs were made from recycled clothing or fabric scraps of wool or cotton. The height of their popularity seemed to be around 1870
