G248 Outstnding Late 18th./early 19th. century, New England. Just fabulous size and surface, I don’t know how it could get better. The trencher is a very heavy wood, I might suggest Chestnut. It is very difficult to tell because of the painted surface. This trencher has the best dry, dry red paint outside. The interior of the bowl is nice and clean with great old patina The trencher
measures 22” x 13 ½” x 4 1/2 inches.
