G285 18th century   Old foundry mold wheel,This wooden foundry gear mold is from the late 1800's. The foundry used these molds in a sand casting process to produce the items in cast iron. The molds were made by specially skilled craftsmen. Whose precision woodworking, made perfect replicas of the cast iron piece that their customers requested. This gear is a great old piece of American Industrial history, wonderful for industrial urban decor.
