G302     New England small wooden  Beehive painted Bowl, out of round  , ca. late 18th to early 19th century.  Bold form, with small  rim tapering subtlely downward,  showing strong evidence of slow lathe turning, and resting on raised foot. Under base shows expected and desired chisel marks where the block was removed after turning. Dry red paint is the first coat and the original coat, with diameter 7”  while standing about 2”  The structural condition of this bowl is remarkable, with no apparent cracks. The painted surface has typical minor abrasions, from year of use
