G393 Quaint small sized berry gathering basket in original red paint. The 5” square base gradually tapers to an 8 1/2” wide circular opening. Single wrapped rim with tightly woven sides. Steamed and bent, notched handle is sturdy and incorporates a tiny knot in the wood, creating a bump along the top of the handle, adding a bit of character to the basket. Evidence of very early home / “make-do”repairs on the basket’s bottom appears to have been for reinforcement purposes. Sides are 5 1/2” tall, overall height at top of handle is 8 3/4”.
