G473 Antique Bing sewing machine
G473 This is the beautiful BING MINIATURE TOY sewing machine made in Bavaria and has gold stamping on the end of the base indicating their trademark “ Int. reg. TRADEMARK BAVARIA, D.R.G.M. USA Patent Appl. ” The interesting drive mechanism is chain driven with a chrome spoked hand wheel with a retractable handle. Montgomery Ward’s 1925-26 catalog featured this BING machine in their toy section with an ad stating, “ This is not a toy, but a machine for travelers.” Sears 1926 catalog also featured this machine with a price tag of $3.47. The machine measures: 6 1/2” tall x 4 1/2” deep x 7 3/4” wide AND COMES WITH THE ORIGINAL  BOX. ,it is very solid, stable and made of heavy german cardboard. The machine is in mint condition and a true collectors piece.
