G885 Exceptional “A Family Record” Sampler “wrought by Levinia Baker – 1818” – depicting various births, a marriage, and a death from the Baker family spanning a timeframe from 1755 – 1803. The hand stitched family record is centered and is bordered by a double stitched band giving the visual appearance of an inner frame. The entire border is framed with a meandering vine which includes roses and thistle buds that meet together in the bottom center with a small stitched bow. The verse at the bottom center reads: “Throughout lifes path / As with this rose / Twined with each sweet / Some thistle grows”. There are a few minor losses to the base fabric, however all letters and borders are intact. Losses do not detract from the beauty of this piece of family history that is over 200 years old!  Framed measurements: 19 1/8” wide x 17 3/8” tall
