**SOLD** GM2 Rare 18th century Sussex County, Delaware blanket chest bearing its original gray painted surface with original fern and dots paint decoration, a molded edge along front of lid, dovetailed case and original black painted and decorated applied bracket base with dovetailed feet. Solid yellow pine one-board construction with rosehead and “T” nails and snipe / cotter pin hinges.  Clean, natural patina interior with lidded till. Circa 1770s-1790s. 
(Of note: Ferns symbolized vision, wealth / good fortune and fertility in the 18th century) 
Measurements: 44 ¼” wide x 18” deep x 22” tall.
