H1080 19th century New England original red painted mule chest featuring hinged lift lid storage area over two dovetailed drawers resting on tall cut out ends. Mortised battens on the underside ends of lid.  Square head nail construction. Natural patina interior. Two wide back boards measure 16" and 17" across. Found in a Massachusetts Estate.  Circa 1850 – 1860s. 

Measurements: 37 3/4" wide x 18" deep x 42 1/4" tall.
