**SOLD** H1081 19th century Folk Art painting depicting a young, golden-haired girl in a red dress and ruffled white pantaloons with a tiger-striped cat by her side. The girl is holding a small basket in one hand and has a blue bird perched upon a finger of her opposite hand. Oil on canvas. Signed in lower right corner “R. E. Roebuck” – The reverse side of the painting bears another pencil sketch of the same young girl and is also signed “Richard Edward Roebuck” “Georgia”. Richard Edward (R.E.) Roebuck is a well-known American folk artist from Georgia who was born in 1960. Unframed. Canvas measurements: 16” wide x 5/8” thick x 20” tall
