H288 General Store sign

H288 Early 19th century to mid-19th century General Store Trade Sign for "R.G. Page." advertising "W. I. Goods & Groceries" on one end, and "Eng. Goods & Crockery" on the opposite end. Sign is from Vermont. Black lettering on a white background. Molding surrounding all sides secured with square head nails. Early screws secure the battens on the back - which have helped to keep this sign from warping and/or twisting over the years. Circa 1840 - 1850  from a private collection. Great early sign in wonderful condition!
