H91 Framed Oil painting on canvas featuring a still life of a book, candlestick, pipe and decoy. Signed in lower right hand corner 'Ella Ruark'. Artist's card is stapled to back - indicating it was from Baltimore, Maryland. Framed measurements: 30 1/4" wide x 24" tall x 1 5/8" thick. NOTE: Ella Ruark (1915 - 2015) was born in Hooper's Island, Maryland in 1915, graduated from Hooper's Island High School in 1932 and moved to Baltimore with her husband in the 1940's. She began her career at the local YMCA then attended the Schuler School of Fine Arts where she transformed her painting hobby into a career. She had a painting chosen by the Grand National Waterfowl Association in 1993. She passed away on May 11th, 2015 at the age of 99 years old.
