i2 18th century original blue painted dovetailed document box with applied molding around top and bottom. Combination of dovetailed, “T” nails and square head nailed six-board construction. Wonderful dry blue painted exterior surface with natural patina interior. Very faint pencil writing on inside of lid. Circa 1790s.
