J127 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania original salmon painted drysink boasting rare Bible Cross Panel doors with beaded edges and a very unusual hinged shelf along the top that lifts to create a tall backsplash and accommodates larger items in the well area. One dovetailed drawer overhangs to the right-hand side of the drysink. Remnants of beaded edging remains along the drawer and apron of the dry sink. The notch cut out on the feet echoes the notched cut outs along the rounded sides of the well. Doors are triple mortised and wooden pegged. One board sides, and one board interior shelves, measure a full 20” wide/deep. Square head nail construction. Extremely dry surface with extensive wear indicating many years of heavy use. The wear on the shelf is indicative of use in both positions. Interior bears natural patina. Circa 1840’s.
Measurements: 53 ¼” wide x 22 ¼” deep x 42” tall with shelf down. It measures 46 ½” tall with shelf in the upright / backsplash position.
