J217 Extremely rare Lancaster County, Pennsylvania bucket bench / dry sink featuring an overhanging well with a drawer and a mortised open shelf below the center section of the well. The surface retains traces of old gray paint over the original red paint, and bears extensive wear indicative of many years of repetitive use. The notched groove drain hole prominently remains in the overhang of the well. The drawer opens to reveal a divided section for utensils. One board, square head nail construction with nice, half-moon cut out ends. This is one of the earliest, and best, examples of the Lancaster County bucket bench / dry sinks we have seen in 40+ years. Circa 1830’s – 1840’s. Measurements: 48 ¾” wide x 19 ½” deep x 35 ¼” tall.
