J66 Small sized 19th century Pennsylvania hand stitched hexagonal shaped Penny mat / rug featuring 37 triple layered “pennies” made of colorful felted wool. A light colored thread was used consistently throughout the mat / rug to adorn each layer of every penny with a blanket-stitched edge - with the bottom layer being secured to the backing material with the same stitching. Great condition with only minor loss to one layer of one penny. Measurements: 16” x 14” at widest points.
