K105 Pintail Drake Duck Decoy carved by R. Madison Mitchell – Signature and date inscribed on bottom: “R Madison Mitchell 1967”. Decoy bears its original painted surface with the original staple, ring and weight intact on bottom. Robert Madison Mitchell was born in 1901 in Oakington, Maryland, near Harford County’s Swan Creek, just south of Havre de Grace, and he grew up in this waterman’s community at the top of the bay. Mitchell died on January 14, 1993 at the age of 91.
