K1573 19th century Pennsylvania-German vibrantly painted and decorated steamed and bentwood box dated 1877 on top. Beautiful hand-painted floral motifs surround all sides as well as the top of the lid.  A center medallion on the lid encases the name “Anna” and a saying written in German that translates in English to: “Girl with the best heart that deity ever shot, you deserve no pain, being happy is your profession.” The snug fitting lid on this sturdy box opens to reveal a clean natural patina interior.  From the extensive Folk Art collection of M/M Paul Flack of Pennsylvania. Measurements: 11 ½” x 9 ½” x 7 ¼” tall.
