Deacon Bench, settle, painted Bench
K1634 Early 19th century Pennsylvania paint decorated half spindle back settee bearing original brown painted surface with decorative mustard pinstriping and fruit motif, one board plank seat with pinstripe decoration, scrolled arms bearing pin striping, turned spindles, and rests on turned painted legs. The wood is pine. Often called a "Deacon's" or Hall Bench, this sturdy example is from about 1840. 
Measurements: 70 ¾” long x 21" deep x 32 ½” tall. Seat height is 16 ¼” tall.
