K1690 19th century Seaman’s chest in original red painted surface with wonderful hand painted artwork of the British flagged Ship “Imogene” on the lid, along with the initials “V R” and date “1885”. (HMS Imogene of the Royal Navy launched June 24, 1831). The front panel bears the name “S. WELCH” with “COOK” painted below the name. Chest is dovetailed construction with applied molding around lid and base and strap hinges. Original iron handles remain intact on each end. Clean, natural patina interior boasts an open top till with drawer below.  
Measurements: 41 ½” wide x 22” deep x 20 ½” tall.
