**SOLD** K1713 Late 19th century American original painted countertop Spice Cupboard / Apothecary – The wooden case bears original black painted surface and houses 7 rolled tin drawers with original red painted and decorated drawer fronts and original white porcelain knobs. The top four drawers bear remnants of hand painted advertising that reads: “10 Lbs Net” “Globe Mills Standard” “PEPPER”, “CINNAMON”, “CLOVES”, “GINGER”. There are also remnants of advertising on bottom three drawers, however they are illegible. Globe Mills (Flours / Spices / Feed) was in business in Fort Wayne, Indiana from approximately 1888 to 1921. This style of spice cabinet was used in the late 1880s – 1900 as a countertop display in a general store.
Overall measurements: 29” wide (17” wide on taller end) x 10 ¼” deep x 19 ¼” tall (6” tall on end).
