**SOLD** K1721 Outstanding late 18th century to early 19th century identified New England completely original 30 graduated-drawer Apothecary in original, never overpainted dark green surface with gold gild stenciled lettering on drawers identifying contents as paint colors and supplies. The drawer labeled “T. D. Senna” also bears the hand painted script letter name “W. Lakin” and several other drawers have hand painted script initials along the top fronts. Dovetailed case and dovetailed drawers. Each of the original wooden knobs have hand-hewn stems on backs and are secured inside the drawers with tiny wooden pegs. We were told this spectacular piece came from the cape of Massachusetts. The “Lakin” name on the drawer is a family name that was very prominent in eastern Massachusetts during the time period.
Measurements: 61” wide x 10” deep x 41 ¾” tall.
PLEASE NOTE: The apothecary is much too large to actually hang on a wall - the iron brackets shown in the photos were on the piece when purchased and are used to secure this item to a wall to keep it from falling forward.
