**SOLD** K1729 Fantastic historical Folk Art Ship Diorama depicting the Clipper Ship “Flying Cloud” out of New York in full sails upon rough seas.  The back panel of glass bears hand painted clouds and a beautiful sky and reverse painted birds adorn several areas on other panels of glass. Phenomenal details abound throughout the model.
Cased measurements: 15 3/8” wide x 8” deep x 9 ½” tall.
NOTE: The Clipper Ship “Flying Cloud” was in service from 1851 to 1874 under U.S. and British flags. In 1854, “Flying Cloud” of New York set the world’s sailing record for fastest passage between New York and San Francisco in a total of 89 days and 8 hours. That record held for over 130 years until it was broken in 1989 by a contemporary racing sloop.
