K1781 Beautiful 19th century hand carved wood Putti. Papier Mache mold retaining its original surface. Solid hand-carved wood construction with exquisite details. This type of mold was used as a pattern to make Papier Mache’ Christmas, Easter and Halloween items. You can see fine knife cuts on the arms where the Papier Mache was cut away when dry. A lovely decorative piece of history. Mounted on metal / wood stand for display.
Approximate measurements of the Putti are: ~30” long x ~16” wide x ~16” tall.
The overall mounted height is ~28 ½” tall. The base measures 13” long x 7 ¾” wide x 1 ½” thick.
