K1825 19th century Pennsylvania lidded dough box in original mustard grain painted surface. Dovetailed and square head nail construction with lid that retains two original grasp battens. Clean, natural patina interior. Applied curved molding on each end acts as sturdy handles. The wood is pine. Circa 1870s-1880s.
This dough box was initially found in Newfoundland, PA (Wayne County).
Measurements: 27 ½” long x 14 ¾” wide x 9” tall sides x 11” tall at battens.
