K1831 Antique Needlework Sampler
K1831 Exceptional, early 19th century identified and dated framed Needlework Sampler that reads: ”If we see another year - May we spend it in thy (???) - All its days devote to thee - Living for eternity”  “Anna Middlebrooks Sampler Worked in the 8 of her age 1826”  Sampler is stitched with what appears to be cotton threads over linen material and boasts blues, browns, tans, greens and ecru colors.  Features bands of alphabet letters and a band of numbers 1 through 13, along with bands of geometrical shapes and is surrounded by a meandering vine border. Urns, trees, baskets and vines of flowers, birds and geometrical shapes adorn the symmetrical layout. Great condition for such an early sampler! Professionally framed.
Framed measurements: 14 1/8” wide x ¾” thick x 15” tall.
