K199 19th century Pennsylvania original blue painted wooden Lantern featuring four bubbled glass panels contained within a wooden pinned and post construction frame with chamfered corner posts. One of the glass panels has a small notch cut into the bottom so it can be slid upwards for access to the internal metal candle socket. A wire bail handle is attached to the top for carrying / hanging purposes and a primitive metal “hood” covers the ventilation hole to protect it from wind / rain.
The wood is pine. Circa 1870s.
Measurements: 5” x 5” x 9 ½” tall (approximately 12 ¾” tall to top of handle)
