K220 New England storage box / trunk retaining original green painted surface with the initials “L.D.M.” hand painted in black on the top of lid. The top, front and sides of the box are adorned with a pinstriping detail also hand painted in black. Original forged iron handles remain intact on each end. Clean, natural patina interior with applied interior molding around the opening to help keep dust and moisture from seeping inside the box. Pine, one board, dovetailed and square head nail construction. Circa 1850s-1860s.
