K33 19th century Pennsylvania Schoolmaster's Desk with slant lid and gallery resting on tapered legs bearing original dry red painted surface. Spectacular workmanship is evident throughout, especially in the molded panel details on the front and sides as well as the applied molding edges to the gallery and lid. The lid opens to reveal a clean, natural patina interior with two slanting shelves. Square head nail construction. Circa 1860s – 1880s. Measurements: 30” wide x 22” deep x 31” tall (front) x 38 ¾” tall (back). Apron to floor measures 21 5/8” tall. The one board back is 16 1/8” wide.
