K69 Early 19th century New England original blue painted and decorated pine blanket chest with the date 1817 painted on the front, along with the initials “SB” in Period script lettering. Hand painted swag and tassel decorations adorn the front and sides. Clean, natural patina interior with open top till and beautiful original strap hinges. Dovetailed case with dovetailed applied bracket base. Applied molding secured with “T” nails and early square head nails surrounds the lid.
