K81 Beautiful 19th century Pennsylvania mortar and pestle bearing its original dry, red painted surface. The solid wooden mortar boasts a tall, shaped stem, shaped footed base and beautifully turned bowl with a delicately tapered interior lip surrounding the opening and incised rings decorating the exterior. Natural patina interior with wear from years of use. Several surface cracks from age and shrinkage. The pestle retains its natural patina finish.
Measurements: 4 ½” diameter (bottom) x 6” - 6 ¼” diameter (top) x 8” tall. The pestle measures 10 ½” long.
