L109 Mid-19th century New England original blue painted tall footed pine blanket chest featuring six-board, square head nailed construction with applied edge molding around the hinged lid all flanked by solid ends boasting a high, unusual cut-out "whale's tail" profile to the ends of the base and a decorative cutout along the front of the base. Clean, natural surface interior. Circa 1850s.
Measurements: 37 ¾” wide x 19 ¼” deep x 25 ¾” tall.
