L120 Large identified Pennsylvania painted wooden bowl with tole painted interior featuring four large tomatoes and matching tole painted wooden butter paddle. The bowl is signed and dated on its slightly footed base: “Helen M Banks 1946” and the paddle is signed “H. Morris Banks” on its back. Mrs. Helen Morris Banks (1903-1977) from Mifflintown, PA taught the art of tole painting and she also organized the first public library in Juniata County, PA in the late 1930’s. 
The bowl measures: 18 ¾” x 20” top diameter x 5 ¾” deep. The butter paddle measures 9 5/8” long x 5 ¾” wide.
