L13 Large 19th century American carved Rocking Horse on bow rockers. The solid wooden carved horse retains its gray painted surface and rests on original salmon painted with blue pinstripe decorated rockers. One rocker has a very early brace that travels along the length of the rocker. Horse boasts painted eyes, great detailed carved nose/mouth and is adorned with a straw stuffed leather saddle with horsehair mane and tail, realistic metal / leather accoutrements and a saddle blanket. Circa 1850s-1860s. From a Pennsylvania collection. Measurements: 63” long x 12” wide x 37” tall.
