Wood Boxes and Bins

L140 Very unique late 18th century New England squared wooden Chopping Bowl bearing scant remnants of its original black painted surface.  Very thick, chunky hand-hewn style with hewn handles and hand-hewn recessed base and a deliberately notched spot along one side. Carved from a single piece of wood. Exceptional wear and patina that only comes from years of excessive use!
Approximate measurements:17 ¼ x 16 ½” across top opening x 4 ½”- 4 ¾” tall – depending on where measured.
